Analysis:

The city of Fort Worth had a population of 873,069 in 2017 and experienced changes in crime rates such as murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, property crime, burglary, larceny, motor vehicle theft, and arson.  Fort Worth saw a 21% reduction in the murder rate and a 17% reduction in rapes reported.  Robberies in Fort Worth went down by 22% in 2018 when compared to the year before.

 

The city of Dallas had a population of 1,338,551 in 2017 and experienced changes in crime rates such as murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, property crime, burglary, larceny, motor vehicle theft, and arson.  Dallas saw a 16% reduction in robbery when comparing 2018 totals to the year before.  In the same year, burglary went up by 12% and motor vehicle theft went up by 20%. 

 

The city of Grand Prairie had a population of 193,249 in 2017 and experienced changes in crime rates such as murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, property crime, burglary, larceny, motor vehicle theft, and arson.  Grand Prairie had 2 murders in 2018 with a single murder the year before.  Robberies in 2018 were down 19% in Grand Prairie.

 

The city of Irving had a population of 242,062 in 2017 and experienced changes in crime rates such as murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, property crime, burglary, larceny, motor vehicle theft, and arson.  Irving’s murder rate rose by 50% in 2018 when compared to the year before and aggravated assaults were down by 24% in the same period.
